Job Title: Managing Associate (Mid to Senior Level) – Insolvency (Contentious)

A top-tier international law firm based in London is seeking a driven and experienced Senior Associate (mid to senior level) to join its growing Restructuring & Insolvency team, with a focus on contentious matters. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex, high-profile, and often cross-border disputes involving major corporate collapses, asset recovery, and enforcement strategies.

About the Team:
The Restructuring & Insolvency team advises across the full spectrum of corporate distress matters, with deep experience acting for stakeholders including banks, office holders, corporates, directors, and pension trustees. The team is particularly renowned for high-profile insolvency litigation, fraud investigations, cross-border asset recovery, and enforcement receiverships.
Recent contentious mandates include:
- Acting for the Trustees in Bankruptcy of a former international tennis champion
- Pursuing high-value cross-border enforcement actions and arbitration award recovery
- Representing administrators and liquidators of major public relations and media groups
- Advising on complex cases involving insolvency officeholders and sanctioned entities
- Working with foreign trustees to obtain recognition in the UK for international proceedings
- Acting in bankruptcy cases involving high-net-worth individuals and former sports professionals
Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting high-quality legal documentation with clarity and precision
- Managing a varied caseload of insolvency litigation and advisory matters
- Supervising junior team members and contributing to their development
- Supporting business development initiatives and client relationship building
- Conducting detailed legal research and staying abreast of developments in insolvency law
- Participating in client seminars, profile-raising events, and internal training
Candidate Profile:
- UK-qualified solicitor with strong experience in contentious insolvency work
- Proven track record of handling complex litigation matters, ideally with a cross-border element
- Strong technical knowledge of insolvency law and related dispute resolution strategies
- Commercial awareness and the ability to deliver practical, client-focused advice
- Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities under pressure
- A collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- High academic achievement and a genuine passion for contentious restructuring work
