Remote - Occasional Travel
£150,000 - £180,000 + Equity
A privately backed investment group is building a new IT-focused platform, backed by significant equity and a strong acquisition pipeline. The team, made up of experienced entrepreneurs and operators, has a track record of scaling businesses through M&A and organic growth.
They are seeking a CFO to build the finance function, lead integration, and support the business through rapid expansion. The role will work closely with an M&A lead and will evolve as the platform expands internationally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and deliver a long-term financial strategy aligned with commercial objectives, contributing to wider business planning and decision-making.
- Oversee financial planning cycles, including budgeting, forecasting, liquidity management and scenario modelling.
- Establish scalable, efficient financial processes and systems to support rapid growth and integration of acquired companies.
- Lead financial aspects of acquisitions, including due diligence, valuation, structuring and post-deal integration. Ensure robust financial governance across the group.
- Deliver timely and accurate reporting across internal and external stakeholders, including board reporting, fund valuations and performance analytics.
- Maintain oversight of financial compliance, regulatory obligations and risk frameworks.
- Recruit and lead a high-calibre finance team, fostering a performance culture and supporting career development as the business scales.
About You:
- Significant experience as a CFO, Finance Director or equivalent, ideally within a fast-paced, private equity-backed or acquisitive environment
- Track record of designing and implementing finance functions from inception
- Strong grasp of corporate finance, commercial analysis, and performance metrics
- Big Four audit background preferred (Transaction Services or Investment Banking also interesting)
- Deep knowledge of financial legislation, compliance, and risk management
- Technically strong with excellent forecasting, modelling, and data analysis skills
- Qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, CA, CFA) with a strong academic track record
- Experience or interest in the Cyber, Technology or Software sectors
- Highly commercial and strategic thinker with excellent influencing skills
- Self-motivated, hands-on and resilient, thrives in early-stage and high-change environments
- Proven ability to lead complex projects independently and at pace
