Midlands Based (Hybrid working)
£150,000-£180,000 + 2% Equity
A fast-growing, PE-backed technology and services group with revenues north of £50 million and strong EBITDA is seeking a commercially-minded Group CFO to help lead its next phase of growth.
With a core business spanning software development and workforce solutions, the company is entering a transformative period, accelerating its buy-and-build strategy while expanding into adjacent sectors, including legal tech and enterprise systems. The newly appointed CEO is building a first-class executive team to execute a multi-year growth plan culminating in a planned exit within the next c3 years.
The Role:
This is a key board-level hire. The Group CFO will work closely with the CEO and investors to lead the financial strategy through a period of acquisitive and operational growth. You’ll drive multiple planned acquisitions, optimise capital structure, and strengthen governance all while mentoring the finance lead for future succession. This role suits a hands-on CFO who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
- Shape and execute the financial roadmap for ambitious inorganic and organic growth.
- Lead all M&A financial processes, from due diligence through to integration and performance management.
- Partner with investors, ensuring alignment across financial performance, KPIs, and long-term strategic aims.
- Optimise capital allocation and structure to fuel acquisitions and business expansion.
- Strengthen financial controls, reporting, and systems to support scale.
- Support and mentor the current Head of Finance, helping develop succession within the team.
- Act as a strategic partner to the CEO, bringing financial clarity to business planning and risk management.
About You:
- A track record of success in senior finance roles, ideally as CFO or FD in PE-backed or high-growth environments.
- Proven experience leading M&A from end to end, including financial diligence, integration, and post-deal value creation.
- Commercial and strategic acumen, able to think beyond the numbers and help shape the broader business agenda.
- Strong leadership capabilities with a collaborative, mentoring approach.
- Experience within the technology, software, professional services, or B2B sectors.
- Comfortable rolling up your sleeves when required and working closely with operational teams.
- UK travel required; proximity to the Midlands preferred but not essential.
