Job Title: Multiskilled Operator (MSO)

Reports to: Studio Manager

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 6 months

**Location: Onsite 5 days p/w in Rugby, UK**

Role Overview

We’re looking for a versatile Multiskilled Operator (MSO) to help run the day-to-day of a

high-efficiency eCommerce video studio. This role blends technical, editorial, and

operational responsibilities — from basic equipment maintenance to light editing, supporting

live recording sessions, and occasional vision mixing.

You’ll be a key part of ensuring that studio output remains consistent, professional, and

on-schedule. You’ll work closely with the Studio Manager, Vision Mixer-Directors, and Floor

Team to make sure every shoot runs smoothly, content is correctly archived, and tech

issues are spotted early.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor all technical equipment including cameras, switchers, microphones, and recording gear

• Provide first-line troubleshooting during studio operations

• Set up and calibrate kit at the start of day (with floor team)

• Perform light editing and file prep for upload or review

• Archive footage correctly — managing SKUs, file naming, and folder structures

• Support content team with exports, encodes, and script uploads

• Assist with scheduling and task planning in collaboration with Studio Manager

• Cover vision mixing / directing duties when required

• Liaise with off-site teams on cloud upload processes and file syncs

• Help evolve studio workflows with a focus on efficiency and automation

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong working knowledge of video production tools: switchers, recorders, audio interfaces, and NLEs (such as Premiere or Resolve)

• Comfortable in a multi-camera studio environment

• Excellent file management and general tech literacy

• Strong problem-solving instincts and a calm head under pressure

• Experience working in a fast-paced or high-volume shoot environment

• Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Bonus Points For

• Experience with streamlining studio workflows using automation or scripting

• Previous work in live vision mixing or remote broadcast environments

• Familiarity with eCommerce content or high-volume product video

• Confidence working with both Mac and PC systems

Why This Role Matters

The MSO is the glue between production and post — part engineer, part editor, part

production assistant. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow within a

technical creative environment while helping shape one of the most efficient eCommerce

studios in the UK. (edited)
