Job description
UX/UI Designer (National Security)
Location: London (Hybrid working – 2-3 days on site)
Clearance Required: SC clearance (DV preferred)
About the Role:
We are seeking a talented and user-centred UX/UI Designer to join teams delivering mission-critical solutions in the National Security sector. Working as part of a collaborative, cross-functional environment, you’ll be involved in the end-to-end design of secure, scalable and intuitive digital platforms that make a real-world difference.
This is an opportunity to join a globally recognised organisation that offers exceptional progression routes, structured training, and access to a diverse project portfolio across the sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and contribute to the research, design and prototyping of user-focused digital products for secure government and defence clients.
- Work closely with product owners, developers, analysts, and client stakeholders to understand complex requirements and design challenges.
- Design clean, intuitive interfaces that simplify interactions in data-sensitive or high-security environments.
- Create user flows, wireframes, mockups and interactive prototypes using tools such as Figma or Sketch.
- Advocate for UX best practices and accessibility standards throughout the product lifecycle.
- Participate in stakeholder workshops, usability testing, and user interviews to gather insights and validate designs.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure accurate handover of assets and a smooth implementation process.
What We're Looking For:
- 3–5 years of experience in UX/UI design, ideally with experience working in complex or regulated sectors (e.g. Government, defence, health, finance).
- Strong portfolio demonstrating user-centred design with a focus on solving real-world problems.
- Proficiency with industry-standard design and prototyping tools (e.g. Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, InVision).
- Understanding of accessibility, responsive design, and secure design principles.
- Strong communication and presentation skills; able to convey design decisions to technical and non-technical audiences.
- A growth mindset, with a desire to learn new skills and contribute to improving design processes and workflows.
What We Offer:
- Hybrid working with a central London hub (2-3 days per week in the office).
- Opportunities to gain or upgrade government security clearance.
- Dedicated career development plan with access to certifications, training budgets and mentoring.
- Chance to work across national security, central government and international programmes.
- Diverse, inclusive culture with a strong emphasis on collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Competitive salary + bonus + comprehensive benefits package.
Apply Now:
If you’re a UX/UI designer who thrives on solving complex problems and wants to make a real impact, we’d love to hear from you. This is more than just a design role - it’s a chance to shape digital services that protect the UK and support global security initiatives.
