Job description

Position: Legal Counsel

Salary guide: £60,000 – £75,000 per annum, plus bonus and excellent benefits

Location: Hertfordshire, Hybrid – around two days a week office based


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and commercially minded Legal Counsel to join a highly respected and collaborative in-house legal team. This is a rare chance to gain broad exposure to a range of complex legal matters across the UK and international.


The opportunity:

You'll provide commercially focused legal advice across the business, ensuring projects run with minimal legal risk whilst handing a broad range of commercial agreements.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Advising on a broad range of legal matters including commercial contracts (sales, procurement, R&D, IT, manufacturing, supply and partnerships) plus some potential support across IP and compliance
  • Supporting departments with pragmatic, risk-based legal advice
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide array of commercial agreements
  • Supporting with company secretarial tasks, such as board minutes and resolutions
  • Monitoring legal developments and advising on potential business impacts


Candidate profile:

  • UK Qualified Solicitor around with 1 – 5 years’ PQE
  • Solid training and experience gained in a private practice law firm is essential
  • In-house legal experience is advantageous, but not essential
  • Strong background reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements,
  • You will be analytical with excellent communication skills and stakeholder managements,
  • Comfortable working as an In-House legal generalist and keen to develop across a range of legal disciplines
  • Collaborative, proactive and solutions-focused mindset
