Head of Tax, UK London or Midlands | £150,000 – £200,000 + Package


This European Firm is seeking a dynamic, commercially driven Head of Tax to build and lead a specialist direct tax and transaction advisory function within its growing UK business. This is a rare opportunity to shape a new strategic service line within a truly collaborative, globally minded firm.

Operating from over 100 offices across 50 countries, the firm employs c.5,000 professionals worldwide. The growing UK business currently has 180+ staff across audit, tax, legal and transaction services. The client base includes internationally owned UK subsidiaries, private equity funds and portfolio companies, and a growing number of UK OMB’s which is a key area of growth.

The Opportunity

The next strategic hire calls for investment in a UK-based Tax Advisory leader to develop and grow a dedicated team focused on:

  • Direct tax structuring & planning
  • Tax due diligence
  • M&A & SPA advisory
  • Management/Shareholder Incentives
  • R&D reliefs & innovation incentives
  • Transaction support in close collaboration with Deals and Legal teams

You will have immediate access to an existing base of work (including mandates currently outsourced) and a strong internal referral network. Expect to lead on deals typically between £1m to £45m, and tap into a portfolio with £500k+ of near-term opportunity.


What will you bring?

  • Senior UK tax specialist with strong technical and commercial skills
  • Significant experience in M&A tax, structuring, and advisory (hands on!)
  • Ability to win trust and confidence with UK and internationally based stakeholders
  • Someone proactive, hands-on, and confident building a function from the ground up (with support of course!)
  • Experience engaging directly with C-Suite and key decision-makers
  • A clear communicator who enjoys offering real-world, pragmatic advice (rather than a woolly ‘catch all’ that only seeks to protect the advisor).
  • Leadership mindset with an eye on long-term growth and team development
