Job description

Alexander Steele are working with an established food manufacturing business in West Yorkshire who are actively recruiting for a Specification Technologist to join their technical team.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Complete and maintain finished product specifications for major UK retailers, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal departments to gather and verify information
• Ensure raw material data is up to date and meets customer and legal requirements
• Maintain and update internal specification databases and systems
• Support the Technical Manager with documentation for audits, product launches, and supplier approval
• Review artwork and packaging to ensure legal and customer labelling compliance
• Work cross-functionally with NPD, process, and QA teams to support smooth product launches
• Keep up to date with UK retailer policies, allergen regulations, and labelling legislation
• Provide technical support to the wider team when required, ensuring best practice and due diligence

On Offer

• £34,000 annual salary
• Monday to Friday – office hours, Friday WFH
• 33 days annual leave
• Company pension
