Overview:
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Head of Operational Training to lead and unify training operations across a multi-country, multi-functional organization. Operating across Scotland, Northern Ireland, England, the Netherlands, Italy, and beyond, this role is essential in ensuring consistency, compliance, and excellence in frontline operational training.
You will oversee training for ground handling, cargo, cabin maintenance, ULD, and GSE management. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of regulated, complex operational environments—whether from aviation, shipping, military, rail, marine, or oil & gas—and can translate that into a high-performance training framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a unified training strategy across multiple operational sites and countries
- Align training content, delivery, and compliance with international and local regulatory bodies, customer standards, and internal company protocols
- Lead and develop a team of 9+ trainers across regions, ensuring knowledge sharing, consistency, and upskilling
- Standardize and modernize training material, methodology, and evaluation practices across all operational areas
- Serve as the key liaison between regional operations and U.S.-based leadership, balancing global alignment with local adaptation
- Build frameworks that support operational excellence in high-compliance, high-variability environments
- Foster strong relationships with internal business units and external stakeholders including airlines, regulators, and government agencies
- Support onboarding and training scalability as the company continues to grow through acquisition
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience leading training programs in a highly regulated, multinational environment
- Strong operational background in aviation, transportation, logistics, military, shipping/marine, rail, or oil & gas
- Demonstrated ability to align dispersed training programs into a cohesive, standards-driven system
- Skilled in managing multiple internal/external stakeholders with conflicting priorities
- Comfortable working across diverse teams and cultures
- Excellent communication, program development, and leadership skills
Preferred:
- Prior experience supporting global or regional training initiatives within aviation services
- Experience in post-acquisition integration and training alignment
