Job description

About the Company:

This leading international firm is recognised for its strength in handling complex infrastructure and energy matters across key global markets. The team advises major developers, lenders, and international contractors on renewable energy and infrastructure projects across multiple jurisdictions. With a strong track record in energy transition work, the practice is especially active in sectors such as clean energy, water, and transport. The team regularly acts on high-value, cross-border project development, construction, and financing mandates.

About the Role:

Due to continued growth, the firm is looking to hire a Senior Associate with experience in project development to join its infrastructure and energy team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on market-shaping deals in a dynamic, supportive environment — offering a broad scope of work across project structuring, risk allocation, and transactional support.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise on the development and delivery of renewable energy and infrastructure projects, including water and PPP schemes.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review key project documents such as EPC contracts, PPAs, and credit support packages.
  • Provide strategic legal advice on project structuring, development risk, and finance considerations.
  • Liaise with lenders and sponsors on project bankability and due diligence matters.
  • Collaborate with international teams on cross-border mandates.
  • Contribute to client development initiatives and internal knowledge sharing.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified lawyer (England & Wales or equivalent).
  • 5+ years' post-qualification experience in project development law.
  • Experience in private practice or in-house, ideally with exposure to energy, renewables, or infrastructure sectors.

Required Skills:

  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills, particularly around EPCs, PPAs, and credit support instruments.
  • Experience advising on construction and project documentation (FIDIC experience is advantageous).
  • Commercially astute, with a strong understanding of risk allocation in infrastructure transactions.
  • Comfortable managing client relationships and providing strategic advice with minimal supervision.
  • A collaborative and proactive approach, with the ability to contribute to broader team and client goals.
