Location: London (Hybrid)
Salary: Up to £60,000k base + Competitive Benefits
The Opportunity
An international law firm headquartered in London is looking to appoint a Compliance Officer to its growing Business Acceptance team. The firm operates globally, with offices in major financial hubs such as Dubai, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Paris. With turnover recently exceeding £300 million and further ambitious growth plans underway, this is an excellent opportunity for a compliance professional to join a high-performing, forward-looking legal environment.
This role is ideal for someone looking to take ownership of complex, high-risk matters within a fast-paced team responsible for end-to-end compliance and business acceptance processes — all handled in-house. The client base includes leading financial services, insurance, and private wealth institutions with cross-jurisdictional reach.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct end-to-end compliance checks, including AML, KYC, and conflicts of interest
- Analyse conflict search results and support resolution using Intapp Open software
- Coordinate new client/matter intake, ensuring all documentation and regulatory requirements are met
- Assist in implementing information barriers and conducting sanctions screening
- Liaise with fee earners, senior compliance stakeholders, and support teams to ensure seamless onboarding and risk management
- Contribute to testing new software upgrades and participate in process improvement initiatives
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a compliance role within a law firm (international or City firm background preferred)
- In order to be considered for this role, you must be working at a Law firm and have both AML and Conflicts experience
- Strong knowledge of UK AML regulations and SRA conflicts rules
- Proven ability to handle high-risk, complex clients across multiple jurisdictions
- Confident communicator with the ability to present to senior stakeholders
- Proficient with compliance tools and data platforms (e.g. Bureau van Dijk, Companies House, Accuity)
- Detail-oriented, organised, and thrives under pressure
- Undergraduate degree required
