Reserving Actuary in City of London

Job description

We are working with a renowned Lloyd’s syndicate on a role within their actuarial reserving function. The opportunity offers fantastic exposure to senior management and stakeholders and ideal for someone looking for ownership and autonomy of their work.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintain and update reserving assumptions for GAAP reporting
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reserving estimates
• Analyse reserve risk parameters for capital modelling
• Produce Solvency II Technical Provisions
• Collaborate with underwriting, claims, finance, and MI teams
• Support internal and external audit processes, including independent actuarial reviews
• Mentor and support junior team members
• Contribute to pricing, capital modelling and business planning across the wider actuarial function

Requirements

• Knowledge and prior reserving experience of the London and Lloyd’s market.
• Experience in building reserving models & ad hoc analyses.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Knowledge of ResQ and general programming skills advantageous
• An understanding of Solvency II concepts
• Qualified or working towards qualification of the IFoA exams
