Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and meticulous Technology Researcher to serve as our in-house expert on gadgets and cutting-edge physical technology. This hands-on role requires someone who thrives on discovering, testing, and mastering the latest technological innovations across all equipment, emerging devices, and breakthrough hardware.
You will be passionate about all things tech and gadgets and will become our go-to authority on technology evaluation, procurement guidance, and strategic technology adoption.
Key Responsibilities:
Research & Analysis
- Continuously monitor and research emerging gadgets across multiple categories including audio equipment, cameras, computing hardware, and innovative consumer and lifestyle devices
- Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify breakthrough products, emerging brands, and disruptive technologies before they reach mainstream adoption
- Maintain detailed knowledge of product specifications, performance benchmarks, and comparative advantages across different manufacturers and product lines
- Track technology trends industry developments to anticipate future innovations
- Physically test and evaluate new devices to assess real-world performance, build quality, and practical applications
Subject Matter Expertise
- Serve as the primary internal consultant for all technology-related decisions and purchases
- Provide expert guidance on equipment selection for specific projects, requirements, and budgets
- Stay current with industry standards, certification requirements, and compatibility considerations
Candidate Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering, Technology, or related technical field an advantage
- Genuine passion for technology and innovation
- Detail-oriented approach with commitment to thorough evaluation
- Excellent written communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts
- Curious mindset with drive to explore and understand new technologies
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams • Adaptability to rapidly evolving technology landscape
- Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple research projects simultaneously
