Project Designer (Furniture)
Clerkenwell, London (on-site, full time)
Up to £35,000 (depending on experience)
Are you a creative and hands-on designer with a background in furniture design? Looking for a role where you can bring ideas to life, from concept through to install, while working directly with clients in a beautifully designed showroom?
We’re recruiting for a Project Designer to join a growing team based in the heart of Clerkenwell. This is a full-time, office-based role working with bespoke commercial interiors, with a real focus on customer interaction and design-led problem solving.
What you’ll be doing:
- Working closely with clients to design and develop bespoke furniture solutions for commercial spaces.
- Taking projects from initial concept, site surveys and development stages through to production and final installation.
- Hosting client meetings and design presentations in the showroom.
- Supporting new business opportunities and building strong relationships with both new and existing customers.
- Getting involved in showroom management and wider team collaboration.
Tech skills you’ll need:
- Proficiency in Fusion 360 and/or SolidWorks.
- Bonus points for experience with AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
- Solid knowledge of furniture construction and materials (e.g. Timber, veneer, MFC, solid surface).
What we’re looking for:
- Previous design experience within the furniture industry – commercial interiors or similar is ideal.
- Confident, outgoing personality – someone who enjoys client interaction and relationship-building.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive, team-oriented attitude and a real enthusiasm for design.
- Experience in customer-facing design, sales or business development roles.
- Comfortable leading discussions with clients and managing project timelines.
- Able to juggle multiple deadlines and keep things moving.
A design degree is helpful, but proven industry experience matters more.
