A national newspaper is looking for an up and coming opinion and insights editor from an opinion/features/commentary background to take command of a talented team of journalists sparking debate with powerful and original insights. This is a high profile role, leading from the front for a head of opinion and insights who is not afraid to be controversial.

The Head of Opinion and Insights Job

• Lead a team of talented reporters to produce argument-led Opinion while developing an ambitious new strand of expert-led, insightful commentary that helps readers understand complex and consequential topics — from geopolitics to pensions.
• Present high impact stories and creative ideas underpinned with intellectual rigour.
• Work with colleagues across audience, brand and product to drive and increase readership numbers.

You

• An accomplished journalist and editor with a flair for opinion, features and commentary.
• Are used to leading a team and ambitious to take on more responsibility.
• Have experience in digital publishing and excellent knowledge of media law.
• Highy organised, you thrive on the fast pace and intensity of a national newspaper.
