Senior Leadership Position
A leading UK financial services organisation is seeking a Head of Operational Risk & Resilience to drive the strategic development of its operational risk and resilience capability. This is a newly created senior leadership role, offering the chance to make a real impact during an exciting period of business transformation.
You’ll lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Operational Resilience Framework, working across business-critical services, systems, and suppliers. You’ll also play a central role in embedding robust first-line risk capabilities and a strong risk-aware culture within the customer-facing business units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead the Operational Risk & Resilience Strategy aligned to enterprise risk goals.
- Own and oversee crisis management planning, business continuity testing, and resilience monitoring.
- Identify and mitigate emerging operational risks and vulnerabilities across functions.
- Engage with senior stakeholders to deliver resilience activities across IT, operations, and supply chain.
- Build and embed first line risk capabilities within a key customer-focused business area.
- Lead root cause analysis and post-incident reviews, driving improvement and assurance.
- Act as the bridge between first and second line risk functions, ensuring regulatory alignment.
✅ About You:
- Significant leadership experience in Operational Risk and Resilience within financial services.
- Strong understanding of operational risk frameworks, resilience regulations, and crisis management.
- Excellent communicator and influencer, with experience presenting to senior stakeholders and boards.
- Proven track record of building new capabilities and embedding cultural change.
