Associate – Contentious Financial Services & Investigations

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and ambitious Associate to join a leading Contentious Financial Services & Investigations practice within a dynamic and forward-thinking law firm. About the Team

The Contentious Financial Services & Investigations team forms part of a broader Financial Services department, which also includes thriving Fintech and FS Advisory practices. The team advises on a wide range of complex and high-stakes matters, including:

• Corporate internal investigations across and beyond the financial services sector
• FCA and PRA investigations and enforcement actions
• Contested FCA supervisory interventions, including s166 Skilled Person Reviews
• SMCR and Remuneration Code disputes
• SFO investigations and prosecutions
• Financial crime matters including money laundering, bribery, and corruption

The team is composed of highly ranked partners and experienced practitioners, many of whom bring valuable insight from previous roles within regulatory bodies such as the FCA, PRA, and SFO, as well as in-house roles within financial institutions.

The Role

You will work closely with a team of expert partners and associates on a varied and intellectually stimulating caseload. The role includes:

• Advising on contentious regulatory matters and enforcement actions
• Conducting internal investigations and managing sensitive client issues
• Supporting white-collar crime investigations and prosecutions
• Collaborating with colleagues across the wider Financial Services department
• Providing ad hoc support to the FS Advisory team as needed
