Job Title: Freelance IELTS Online Tutor (Bilingual)

Start Date: ASAP

Working hours& Patterns: Freelance, Part time, Weekends and Evenings

Salary: £20-40 an hour depending on experience

Who are we?

At Prominent Education, part of the Xinlung Group, we help students to achieve their goals through a series of services. Currently, we are experiencing demand from our well-established client-base for one-to-one and group tuition for the IELTS exam. We are looking to recruit experienced online tutors (Native English with Mandarin Support) to join our team. Our educators deliver high-quality, bespoke sessions to our students. We offer highly competitive rates of pay.

Essential:

• A minimum of 3–5 years of teaching/tutoring experience.
• An excellent track record in one-to-one & group tutoring.
• Proven experience tutoring IELTS.
• An in-depth understanding of the IELTS exam, with the ability to teach efficient techniques and skills in both parts (Listening, speaking, reading, and writing) to help students prepare effectively.
• Native English proficiency.
• Willingness to provide an enhanced DBS check.

Desirable:

• Ability to use Mandarin to support teaching.
• Work as an IELTS Examiner before.
• Understand the challenges EFL students face when learning IELTS and provide tailored guidance to address their needs.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored, one-on-one tutoring sessions focused on the IELTS exam.
• Design individualised lesson plans based on the student’s learning needs.
• Track and assess the progress of students, providing regular feedback to both students and parents, and adjusting the teaching approach as needed.
• Effectively utilise online platforms, screen-sharing tools, and digital resources to engage students during virtual lessons.
• Maintain regular communication with clients regarding the student’s progress, track areas of weakness, and develop strategies to ensure students achieve their academic goals.
