Turnaround Scheduler


Based in: Wilton

Position overview:

To develop, optimise, and manage detailed outage schedules that ensure the safe, efficient, and timely execution of planned outages. The Turnaround Scheduler works closely with maintenance, operations, engineering, and contractors to coordinate all outage activities and monitor progress throughout the event. This role will report directly into the Maintenance and Outage Manager.


Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed outage schedules using scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Collaborate with planners and technical teams to build accurate task sequences and durations.
  • Identify critical path activities and support risk-based scheduling decisions.
  • Integrate vendor, contractor, and internal resource schedules into the master plan.
  • Perform schedule reviews and update progress tracking during execution.
  • Monitor schedule performance and report deviations, proposing mitigation actions as needed.
  • Generate and distribute daily and weekly schedule reports to stakeholders.
  • Support readiness reviews and gate meetings with schedule inputs and analysis.
  • Participate in scope freeze and work pack validation processes.
  • Maintain logic ties, milestones, constraints, and dependencies in the scheduling software.
  • Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and safety teams to reflect real-time constraints.
  • Ensure alignment between outage schedule and maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Contribute to cost forecasting and earned value analysis (if applicable).
  • Archive and document schedules post-outage for future benchmarking.
  • Support continuous improvement by capturing schedule-related lessons learned.


Qualification, Skills & Experience:

  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent (Trade Specific)
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • HNC (Desirable)
  • ILM Level 5 in Leadership
  • P6 Scheduling (Desirable)
  • SAP
  • Microsoft Project
  • Excel
  • Word
  • Process Safety Management
