The Client
Our client is a global financial services organization looking for a Vice President-level Legal Counsel to support their EMEA operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid- to senior-level lawyer to work at the heart of a fast-paced, international business and contribute to the strategic legal and regulatory initiatives shaping the company’s future.
The Role
This is a broad in-house role offering exposure to complex business transactions, regulatory implementation, and legal risk management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing legal guidance and expertise across European business operations, including drafting and negotiating transaction documentation and commercial agreements.
- Advising on day-to-day legal matters and responding to ad hoc legal queries from various business stakeholders.
- Collaborating with global and regional teams to assess and implement new regulatory requirements.
- Reviewing internal policies and processes to identify and mitigate legal risk.
- Leading or supporting legal aspects of business initiatives, product development, and operational projects.
- Engaging with external counsel where necessary.
- Working closely with other key functions and internal stakeholders across EMEA, the US, and Asia.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- At least 5 years’ post-qualification experience. Trained with a City law firm or having in-house experience with asset management.
- A strong understanding of alternative investment fund structures and the regulatory landscape affecting financial services businesses.
