We seek a complaince leader to join join one of the most exciting FinTech's in the payments / digital assets space. You will work with the board to develop and scale this business across Europe, the UAE and intime APCA and the USA.
Our client is one of the preeminent providers of payment infrastructure services to the digital assets market. Their client list includes the biggest names in crypto and their revenues grow significantly year on year.
The business is now looking to capitalise on its success by scaling its team, launching new products and expanding its geographical coverage
We need a proven leader that will help drive growth, generate ideas, challenge the status quo and work with other leaders to better the business.
Overview
The Group Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) is the most senior compliance executive responsible for setting and overseeing the strategic direction of the compliance function across the entire group. This role provides an outward-facing perspective, engaging with regulators, industry bodies, and key stakeholders to ensure the business not only meets regulatory obligations but also anticipates and adapts to emerging risks and global compliance trends.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of the group-wide compliance strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and evolving regulatory landscapes, in line with the growth strategy.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulators, external auditors, and industry associations on compliance matters.
- Advise the Board and internal leadership teams on key compliance risks, regulatory changes, and mitigation strategies.
- Promote a culture of compliance across all business units and locations, aligned with our risk appetite.
- Identify emerging compliance trends and respond accordingly and proactively.
- Oversee group-level compliance frameworks, ensuring consistency, scalability, and global applicability.
- Monitor and guide major compliance investigations and high-impact regulatory responses.
- Represent the company at conferences and regulatory consultations as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- 15+ years of experience in compliance, risk, legal, or regulatory affairs within a complex, multinational environment.
- Proven leadership in shaping and driving compliance strategy at a group level.
- Strong relationships with regulators with experience managing regulatory relationships in the UK, France and, ideally, UAE
- Strong understanding and experience within the digital assets industry and the impact of regulation on operating model
- Deep understanding of global regulatory environments and their implications on business operations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
