The Role

An opportunity has become available to join a prestigious Tier 1 Legal 500 law firm, well-regarded for its expert legal services to both corporate and individual clients. As part of its continued growth and expansion, the firm is seeking an experienced Costs Negotiator to join its team of specialists, with a particular focus on Fixed Recoverable Costs.

In this position, you will take full responsibility for your own caseload, overseeing the entire costs negotiation process. You'll collaborate with a team of seasoned professionals to support the effective handling and resolution of matters.

Key duties will include negotiating settlements with opposing parties, and conducting thorough case file reviews to ensure all costs are accurately assessed and appropriately justified.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Proven experience in a Costs Negotiator role, confidently managing a caseload
• Thorough knowledge of costs law and the Civil Procedure Rules
• Skilled in negotiating costs, drafting points of dispute and handling replies
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritise tasks, and handle a varied caseload
• Effective in both independent work and collaborative team settings
• Strong legal insight and attention to detail
• Excellent organisational, time-management, and communication skills
