Consultant Psychiatrist – Inpatient Mental Health Services

• £160,000 – £185,000 DOE
• Multiple Locations: Yorkshire | East Midlands | Greater Manchester | Hayes | Chelmsford | Norwich | East London

We’re currently seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a growing group of mental health services across multiple UK regions. This is an opportunity to work within secure and specialist inpatient settings that prioritise holistic, person-centred care rooted in the recovery model.

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you'll be a key clinical leader within multidisciplinary teams, delivering high-quality care to adults with complex mental health needs.

What You’ll Do:

• Take clinical responsibility for inpatients, including ward rounds, risk assessments, and strategic reviews.
• Fulfil the role of Responsible Clinician for detained patients under the Mental Health Act.
• Provide psychiatric input into the assessment, formulation, and treatment planning within the MDT.
• Contribute to service strategy, clinical governance, and team development.
• Supervise junior medical staff and support professional development across the team.
• Support pre-admission assessments and clinical decision-making around referrals.
• Participate in an on-call rota and provide cover to nearby sites as needed.

What We’re Looking For:

• GMC registration with inclusion on the Specialist Register for Psychiatry.
• CCST/CCT (or equivalent) in General Adult Psychiatry or any related psychiatry field.
• Significant inpatient experience working with adults with severe and enduring mental health conditions.
• Strong leadership and teamworking skills within a multi-disciplinary setting.
• Commitment to CPD and maintaining revalidation requirements.
