At Connect2Hackney, we’re proud to support the London Borough of Hackney in building a fairer, safer, and more inclusive borough. Right now, we’re looking for a talented and driven Lawyer – Adult Social Care to join our dynamic in-house legal team on an initial 3 month interim contract.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a key member of our Legal & Governance Services team, you’ll:
- Manage a varied caseload of adult social care matters with minimal supervision.
- Provide clear, consistent, and solution-focused legal advice to internal clients.
- Represent the Council in courts and tribunals, advocating on behalf of vulnerable residents.
- Draft complex legal documents and reports that support sound decision-making.
- Deliver training and briefings to colleagues, Members, and stakeholders.
- Stay ahead of legal developments and ensure Hackney remains compliant and proactive.
Who You’ll Work With
You’ll collaborate with a wide range of professionals across the Council, including senior officers, barristers, external legal partners, and other local authorities. You’ll also play a key role in supporting governance and legal compliance at committee meetings and working groups.

We’re seeking someone who is:
- A qualified solicitor, barrister, or legal executive with relevant experience in adult social care law.
- Confident in advocacy and legal drafting.
