About Good Life Sorted
An award-winning marketplace that makes the home of older adults a happy place to be is seeking a Product Owner to join the team on a flexible part-time basis. Reporting directly to the CTO and working closely with the CEO, the successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and delivering our product vision over the next stage of growth.
Good Life Sorted is an online marketplace that connects older adults and their families with local, vetted Helpers who provide services such as shopping and errands, light cleaning, meal preparation, transportation, companionship, and more. Our Helpers also support care home residents. As a marketplace, we recruit and vet our Helpers, match them with the right customers, and provide them with the technology to manage their businesses.
About the Role
Good Life Sorted is seeking a talented Product Owner to help define, prioritise, and deliver exceptional user experiences across our platform. This flexible role is ideal for someone who combines strong product instincts with a user-centric approach and an eye for usability.
Working 24 hours per week across 4 days (hybrid, with 2 days per week in our London office), the successful candidate will take ownership of our product backlog and roadmap, ensuring that what we build truly meets the needs of our users, customers, Helpers, and internal teams alike.
The role will be offered on a 6-month fixed-term contract with the expectation of becoming a permanent role in the future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Vision: Collaborate with the CEO and CTO to define and communicate a clear, user-centred product vision and roadmap.
- Backlog Management: Maintain and prioritise the product backlog, ensuring that it reflects the most impactful and valuable work.
- Requirements Gathering: Translate feedback from users, sales, support, and executives into clear, actionable user stories and epics.
- Sprint Planning: Work closely with the Technical Lead and development team to prepare stories for sprint planning, with clear acceptance criteria.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the bridge between the development team and stakeholders, managing expectations and incorporating feedback effectively.
- Acceptance Testing: Review and accept completed features, ensuring they meet business goals and deliver greatuser outcomes.
- User Experience (UX): Partner with designers to ensure every product change balances functionality, usability, and accessibility.
- Release Management: Coordinate with developers and the CTO to plan and execute product releases.
- Market Research: Conduct and synthesise user research, competitor analysis, and feedback to guide product direction and feature prioritisation.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of product management experience, ideally in consumer-facing digital products
- Proven UX sensibility with a strong user-centric approach to product development
- Experience conducting user interviews, usability testing, and translating insights into product requirements
- Excellent communication skills, written, verbal, and visual, for collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Experience working in agile teams using tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities independently
Nice to Have:
- Experience working on marketplace platforms
- Domain knowledge in healthcare or eldercare
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design principles
- Technical fluency, comfortable working with engineers to understand and communicate technical trade-offs
