Development Chemist – Entry-Level


Location: Basingstoke


This hands-on laboratory role presents a valuable opportunity to contribute to a dedicated inorganic chemistry team driving innovation in lithium-based technologies. You’ll play a key role in supporting experimental trials, working closely with production and engineering teams, and fostering a continuous improvement culture aligned with high operational standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist R&D projects and coordinate cross-functional scale-up activities
  • Interpret and communicate results from experiments and literature reviews
  • Stay current with developments in inorganic and lithium chemistry
  • Contribute to innovation and continuous process improvement
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards (ISO9001, ISO14001)
  • Participate in interdisciplinary projects with departments like Quality, Product Development, and Business Development


Ideal Candidate:

  • Degree-qualified in a chemical discipline, preferably with inorganic chemistry experience
  • Strong communication and organisation skills
  • Comfortable handling complex priorities and working across departments
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
