The Role:


We're seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious lawyer to join an expanding legal department in a very exciting and growing global entertainment business. This is a broad consumer products and commercial legal role which will enable you to have hands-on experience but also training and guidance to further your career. As part of the global legal team of over 20 people, you will enjoy a creative, challenging and collaborative environment where your ideas will be every bit as valued as your legal expertise.


Responsibilities:


  • Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including licence agreements, such as standard and non-standard merchandising, publishing, promotional and live event agreements; a wide range of commercial contracts, including content licensing, brand partnerships, service agreements, IT agreements, and NDAs.
  • Advise on marketing, advertising, and promotional campaigns, with particular attention to compliance with advertising standards, consumer protection law, and child-focused advertising regulations.
  • Review creative materials and marketing collateral for legal and regulatory compliance, including digital, influencer, and social media campaigns.
  • Analyse contracts in response to questions from the business, and provide them with legally sound, practical advice, in a clear and commercially focused manner.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to licensing, media, advertising, and technology.
  • Provide creative solutions to business and legal issues, across a variety of subject matters, scenarios, and alternatives.
  • Foster a ‘continuous improvement’ culture, helping to develop and maintain contract templates, policies and processes to protect the business and to create and maintain efficiencies.


Desired qualifications and requirements:


  • UK qualified lawyer with 3-5 years’ PQE, having trained at a leading law firm or recognised in-house business.
  • Experience gained in-house with a focus on consumer products and general commercial work.
  • Knowledge of advertising and media law, particularly in a digital content or entertainment context, is advantageous.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, communication (written and verbal), and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, assess potential risk, and devise commercially focused solutions.
  • Excellent time management skills and an ability to effectively prioritise and work under deadlines whilst remaining calm and level-headed. A “can do” attitude is essential.
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment, and to build strong internal client relationships at all levels.
