Transport Controller

Location: Aberdeen

Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent

⏱ Hours: 7 days on / 7 days off | 06:00 – 18:00


Are you a proactive, forward-thinking professional with a passion for logistics and customer service? We are seeking a highly motivated Transport Planner to join our clients team in Aberdeen. In this fast-paced role, you'll be responsible for ensuring the efficient utilisation of our fleet while upholding the highest standards of safety and service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently manage cargo collections and deliveries using our Transport Management System (TMS)
  • Plan transport activity and communicate with the Transport & Distribution Team
  • Ensure clear, accurate driver communication via the TMS phone app
  • Co-ordinate the use of special vehicles (e.g. Low loaders, extending trailers)
  • Plan and manage abnormal loads in accordance with legislation
  • Monitor vehicle tracking to improve performance and reduce inefficiencies
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities related to third-party services
  • Assist with vehicle servicing, MOTs, and inspections to meet compliance requirements
  • Support continuous improvement in customer service, processes, and cost control
  • Champion a strong HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment & Quality) culture
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards


What We’re Looking For

Minimum Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent planning abilities, including financial tracking
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to team success
  • Resilient under pressure in fast-changing environments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel


Desirable

  • Experience in a high-pressure transport environment with multiple vehicle movements
  • Working knowledge of road transport legislation and driver hour management
