Associate - Private Equity Lawyer in City of London

Taylor Root is looking for an Associate - Private Equity Lawyer in City of London

Job description

A leading international law firm is seeking a high-performing Associate (2–5 PQE) to join its dynamic Private Equity team in London.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious lawyer to advise leading private equity sponsors on complex, high-value transactions across the UK and Europe. The team has a strong pipeline of work and a deepening bench of active sponsor clients, creating significant opportunity for both immediate impact and long-term growth.

About the team:

This London-based team sits within a broader, globally integrated Corporate practice. They advise on the full lifecycle of private equity investment, from fund formation through to exit, offering comprehensive counsel on structuring, financing, tax, and transactional issues. Clients range from blue-chip buyout funds and infrastructure investors to venture capital and secondary funds, operating across sectors including technology, life sciences, energy, manufacturing, and financial services.

The firm takes pride in its collaborative, pragmatic and commercially driven approach. Associates work closely with senior lawyers and clients, gaining exposure to market-leading deals and developing their own client relationships from an early stage.

Why consider this role?

  • Advise top-tier private equity sponsors on sophisticated cross-border transactions
  • Join a high-performing and growing team with a strong deal flow
  • Work in a supportive and inclusive environment that values initiative and career development
  • Enjoy a clear progression path with regular opportunities for client exposure and business development
  • Be part of a global firm with deep resources and minimal need to outsource key workstreams

Ideal candidate:

  • 2–5 PQE with strong UK private equity transactional experience (sponsor-side experience preferred)
  • Strong technical grounding in corporate law and equity documentation
  • Confident communicator with a collaborative mindset and client-focused approach
  • Commercially astute, self-motivated and keen to take ownership of matters
  • Committed to delivering top-quality advice in a fast-paced environment

This role suits someone who thrives in a high-energy environment and wants to be at the centre of the most important private equity deals in the market.
