Head of Legal in United Kingdom

Inside Track is looking for an Head of Legal in United Kingdom

Job description

Inside Track is an organisation working to transform industries from within, and we are seeking a seasoned lawyer to navigate the complex legal landscape of insider-driven change. This role offers the chance to protect and empower professionals who are courageously working to reshape their industries.

The work is inherently challenging – supporting confidential groups of senior industry professionals who are identifying where their sectors hinder rather than enable a just transition. Recent examples include climate whistleblowers from major food companies warning of supply chain catastrophes, and insider groups across advertising, finance, and tech working to expose harmful industry practices.

Your role will be multifaceted: advising on protection of insiders and whistleblowers, ensuring robust organisational governance, navigating libel and whistleblowing laws, and identifying where strategic litigation could drive campaign success. You'll also commission specialist legal support while holding overall responsibility for legal strategy.

We need someone with extensive corporate experience who understands what companies do when faced with potential whistleblowers or insider challenges. You must be seasoned in corporate strategies and counter-strategies, excellent at recruiting specialist advisors, and comfortable working with sensitive, confidential information.

This isn't traditional in-house legal work. You'll be operating at the intersection of corporate law, employment protection, media law, and strategic campaigning. The model is new and the work challenges some of the world's most powerful industries - which means you must be entrepreneurial, emotionally resilient, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

The role includes budget for commissioning external legal expertise, but you'll need to be hands-on rather than managing a team. You must be comfortable with the inherent tensions of supporting industry transformation while protecting all parties involved.

We're committed to building a diverse team and strongly encourage applications from underrepresented backgrounds. If you're excited by the prospect of using legal expertise to enable systemic change, we'd love to hear from you.
