Job Title: Production Manager
Department: Head Office
Reports to: Managing Director
Responsible for: Production, Dispatch & Graphics Team based in Factory
Location: Riverdale House, Dockfield Road, Shipley, West Yorks BD17 7AD
Benefits: Annual Salary circa £40,000 – depending on experience. 20 +Statutory Days Holiday per year. Pension. Free parking on site. Compressed working hours available Mon-Thur 8am-6.15pm or Mon-Fri 9am-5pm depending on applicant preference.
Job Overview
To protect & preserve the internal structure of the company by delivering policies, goals and objectives to ensure an efficient working environment and that deadlines are met consistently to maintain the position of Specialised Covers as the authority in vehicle covers in the UK market.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide leadership & management of the Production, Dispatch & Graphics Team; through training, coaching & performance management; promoting an efficient & collaborative culture
- Manage the team to ensure the efficient use of production time to deliver the daily tasks, utilising Woo commerce, Katana and Notion systems to monitor & control delivery of all products & services to the required timeframes
- Develop plans to increase efficiency & reduce costs within the production process
- Lead the strategic objectives as defined across the Production, Dispatch & Graphics department, working collaboratively across the business, contributing to team effort to develop & implement the strategy
- Liaise with other departments, when required to optimize the efficiencies of operating the factory
· Establish, develop & maintain relationships with suppliers to improve efficiencies & costs
- Identify key areas for improvement in the production process, take ownership & accountability to deliver the changes required to improve the service provided
- Manage stock and inventory to ensure required levels of raw materials are available to support the business requirements
- Accountable for setting, policing & managing the quality standards for all products to meet the requirements of our customers
- Promote & enforce safety within the workplace across the factory & warehouse facilities
- Assist senior management in defining the targets required to meet the production deadlines to optimize the sales for the business
- Attend weekly/monthly meetings with other senior members of the business to report on Operations performance
- Ensure all Company processes & policies are adhered to

P+L responsibility for continuing the current business growth and shaping the strategy for the foreseeable future to include:

- Managing the manufacturing unit & driving operational improvement to lead times

Key Skills & Experience
- Educated to University Degree level or equivalent &/or previous +3yrs experience as Operations/Production Manager
- Ability to manage Production, Dispatch & Graphics teams & successfully lead & develop a team to consistently exceed targets, whilst simultaneously managing multiple projects to tight deadlines for completion & delivered to the required standards
- Competent problem-solving skills and the ability to produce alternative solutions by thinking strategically & implement new solutions through creation of recommendations and action plans
- Excellent time-management, encompassing the ability to adhere to strict deadlines & to prioritise with proven organizational skills
- Proven communication skills both verbally & in written form
- A ‘people person’ able to develop strong working relationships with both colleagues and external customers, providing leadership, staff development & retention of key personnel
- Proactive, results-driven and highly motivated
- Adaptable, able to implement & deliver change
- Computer literate with an understanding of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Powerpoint
The ideal candidate will own the entire production process. They will strategize with other internal teams to ensure operational excellence. The will also run quality assessment to ensure customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of production experience
- Strong organisational and managerial skills
