Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Lawyer with specific experience in the telecommunications sector, particularly working with Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs). The ideal candidate will provide expert legal support on commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, partnership agreements, and dispute resolution within a fast-paced telecom environment.

You will play a critical role in advising on MVNO-specific commercial and regulatory matters, supporting business growth, and ensuring robust legal risk management in a highly regulated and competitive sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize a wide range of commercial contracts including MVNO agreements, network sharing, vendor contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and partnership agreements.
  • Provide expert legal advice on telecom regulatory frameworks impacting MVNO operations including licensing, spectrum, interconnect, and data protection.
  • Support commercial negotiations and business development initiatives with a strong understanding of telecom market dynamics and MVNO business models.
  • Advise on compliance with telecom laws, consumer protection regulations, and industry codes relevant to MVNO services.
  • Manage and mitigate legal risks related to MVNO operations, including disputes, claims, and contract breaches.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—commercial, regulatory, finance, and operations—to align legal strategies with business objectives.
  • Monitor legal developments and emerging trends in telecom and MVNO sectors to proactively update policies and practices.
  • Lead or support dispute resolution processes, including arbitration, mediation, and litigation if required.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) and membership in a recognized Bar Association or equivalent legal qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a Commercial Lawyer, preferably with direct exposure to telecommunications, specifically MVNOs.
  • In-depth knowledge of telecom regulatory environment, MVNO licensing frameworks, and commercial telecom agreements.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and advisory skills with demonstrated experience handling complex commercial contracts.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of working collaboratively across business units.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience working in telecom operators, MVNOs, or legal firms specializing in telecom law.
  • Understanding of technology and telecom industry trends, including mobile networks, data services, and digital transformation.
  • Familiarity with international telecom regulations and cross-border commercial arrangements.
