Job description
Role Purpose:
This role sits within the global Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) function and will work with a variety of stakeholders at all levels, both centrally and in our global operations and construction teams. The purpose of the role is to assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of the global health, safety and environmental management system. The role will also provide development opportunities, with the opportunity for career progression to a more senior HSE role, for the right candidate.
This position is ideal for a recent graduate or an individual with some HSE experience seeking a role in HSE that offers opportunities for growth and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, maintain and improve HSE documentation
- Manage the HSE reporting system, collecting statistics, running reports
- Record keeping of HSE related documents and records
- Plan and communicate HSE topics to the rest of the organisation
- Manage HSE action tracking management system
- Assist HSE Manager’s in all aspects of their roles
- Conduct site visits, participating in inspection, audits,
- Ensure identified non-compliances are efficiently corrected and tracked to completion
- Complete administration related tasks
- Conduct HSE compliance exercises
- Ensure compliance with relevant HSE legislation across the Europe region, maintain and audit against the legal database
- Ensure Colt DCS HSE minimum standards are maintained
- Work closely with the HSE Director and other team members to develop, maintain and improve DCS operational and construction standards
- Assist the HSE Director/HSE Manager’s to develop, prepare and plan for ISO 45001 Certification
- Assist the HSE Director/HSE Manager’s to maintain ISO 14001 and expand to new sites
- Liaise with the certification body and internal stakeholders to arrange external audits
- Liaise with key stakeholders including internal, contractors and customers
- Support stakeholder requests and attend meetings with stakeholders when required
- Play an integral role in the team and provide support and statistics to colleagues to help identify trends and implement improvement plans
- Develop a positive team culture through achievement of results, teamwork, development, accountability, competency and professionalism
- Maintain accident and incident records and assist with investigations as required
- Assist with organisation and administration of HSE campaigns
- To perform additional duties within the scope of the position as requested by the HSE Director

What are we looking for - Skills & Knowledge:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills both written and verbal
- Knowledge and experience of HSE legislation and HSE management systems
- Knowledge and experience of ISO 14001/ISO 45001
- Knowledge and experience of risk assessment, hazard identification and incident investigation
- Knowledge and experience of HSE delivery across construction and data centre operations
- Ability to solve problems using analytical and critical thinking skills
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing circumstances
- Ability to review and manage documentation
- Proven track record of working with diverse multi-country teams
- Exceptional attention to detail with a passion for quality and accuracy
- Excellent computer literacy with specific proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other general administrative applications
- Additional European language an advantage
Qualifications:
Relevant HSE Qualification, BSc or MSc (Occupational Health, Safety and Environment), NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
