Role Summary


As a Team Leader within Ark’s Legionella division, you will carry out risk assessments while also supporting a team of assessors. You will provide guidance, help ensure consistent service delivery, uphold technical standards, and contribute to client satisfaction through quality assurance and day-to-day team support.


Key Responsibilities (including but are not limited to):


  • Carry out Legionella Risk Assessments and compliance audits in accordance with BS 8580-1
  • Act as the lead technical escalation point for legionella risk assessors
  • Review and validate reports to ensure compliance with the relevant standard (ACoP L8, HSG274, and BS 8580-1)
  • Support the onboarding and training of new assessors
  • Contribute to consultant competency assessments and participate in witnessed assessments
  • Coordinate with the QA and Production Teams to maintain report quality and consistency
  • Provide field-based coaching and feedback
  • Engage in monthly CPD sessions and share sector developments with the wider team
  • Competence with risk assessing complex water systems and cooling towers
  • Ensure the legionella risk team achieve performance goals
  • Ensure alignment with Ark’s compliance standards and values


Essential Requirements:


  • Level 3 or equivalent qualification in legionella risk management
  • Strong working knowledge of ACoP L8, HSG274, and BS 8580-1
  • Proven experience in delivering complex Legionella risk assessments across multiple sectors
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and support junior consultants
  • Exemplary knowledge of written schemes of control and complex system design
  • Ability to carry out technical validation and peer review
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Confident in delivering client briefings and technical clarification
  • Competence with complex water systems including cooling towers
