Job description
Join a widely admired London studio to design thoughtful, handcrafted furniture and joinery pieces for character-filled residential and boutique hospitality projects.
Position:
This position is for a talented Furniture Designer at the Junior to Middleweight level, to join a respected London studio known for its thoughtful interiors and crafted detail. Working under the guidance of the Furniture Lead, the successful candidate will support the design and development of bespoke furniture, upholstery, and lighting pieces for high-end residential and hospitality projects.
This role suits someone proactive, curious, and eager to grow. You will be encouraged to develop your understanding of joinery, materiality, and conceptual thinking, with close mentorship from experienced team members.
For the right candidate, the studio is open to applicants based outside of London who are able to work remotely.
Candidate:
The successful candidate will hold a BA in Furniture and Product Design and have 2 to 4 years of experience within a studio or workshop environment. They will be highly creative, with a strong eye for detail and a genuine passion for bespoke furniture, upholstery, and joinery. Strong sketching skills are essential, along with the ability to confidently translate ideas into accurate 3D models and technical drawings using SolidWorks.
They will have a growing understanding of the production process and be comfortable supporting projects through design development, sourcing high-specification materials and finishes, and liaising with suppliers or fabricators. A hands-on approach, a proactive attitude, and the ability to follow direction from senior designers are key, along with excellent communication and a willingness to learn and grow within a collaborative team environment.
Studio:
