Our Client is a global leader in the nuclear energy industry and they are looking for a skilled Piping Designer to join their growing project team.


Purpose of Role:

As a Piping Designer, you will play a critical role in supporting the design, layout and integration of complex piping systems in a highly regulated nuclear environment. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of the UK’s largest infrastructure and clean energy projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and update 3D piping models using industry-standard software (e.g., AVEVA PDMS/E3D, AutoCAD Plant 3D or equivalent)
  • Produce detailed isometric drawings, general arrangement (GA) drawings and support drawings for fabrication and installation
  • Conduct clash detection and coordinate piping layouts with other engineering disciplines (civil, mechanical, electrical, HVAC)
  • Ensure design complies with nuclear safety standards, regulatory requirements and project specifications
  • Interface with engineering, construction and procurement teams to resolve technical issues and ensure constructability
  • Review and incorporate design modifications, redlines and field markups into as-built drawings
  • Contribute to design reviews, HAZOPs and constructability workshops


Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in piping design within the nuclear, oil & gas, energy or similar highly regulated sector
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as AVEVA E3D/PDMS, AutoCAD Plant 3D or similar
  • Strong knowledge of piping standards (ASME, EN, BS) and material specifications
  • Understanding of mechanical interfaces and multidisciplinary coordination
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance
  • Good communication and team collaboration skills
  • Ability to work both on-site in Bridgewater and in Bristol as required


Desirable:

  • Experience on major nuclear new build projects
  • Knowledge of UK regulatory and design codes specific to nuclear installations
  • Familiarity with Navisworks for model reviews and clash detection
