Software Project Lead

Location: Stevenage

Salary: Up to £72,000 per annum + 21% Bonus

A market leading global company within the aerospace and defence sector are looking for an experienced Lead Software Engineer with a passion for innovative software and project management to join them in Stevenage. You will be delivering cutting-edge software solutions for Real Time embedded systems, subsystems, Hardware and Firmware within aerospace electronics and weapons systems.

This position is subject to security clearance and so all candidates must be British Citizens and have resided in the UK for the last 5 years. Previous or current SC and DV clearance is highly beneficial.

Experience & Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and project management to teams of software engineers with proven experienced leading teams of up to 10
• Create estimates of work from requirements and design solutions
• Work package management, task allocation, progress tracking, reporting, bid estimation, budget & cost control and supplier management
• Act as a technical authority on software development, design, techniques and tooling
• Knowledge of the SDLC, particularly with C, C++ and UML
• Deliver leading weapon systems software design projects
• Work cross functionally and collaborate with other divisions and regions
• Prince2, Agile, SCRUM, Six Sigma, DevOps, SDLC and other relevant certifications would be beneficial
