Advertised on behalf of our client – a leading Lloyd’s Syndicate

I’m currently partnering with a high-performing Lloyd’s Syndicate to recruit an experienced Excess Casualty Underwriter for their London office. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic underwriting team focused on US Excess Casualty, with exposure to a diverse and evolving book of business.

You’ll work alongside a collaborative team across London and Europe to support the execution of class strategy, manage broker relationships, and contribute to the profitable growth of the portfolio. This is a role for someone with strong technical underwriting skills and a desire to step into a position with real impact and visibility.

Key responsibilities include:

• Underwriting, quoting and binding US Excess Casualty risks
• Delivering against portfolio performance targets and business plan
• Supporting the development of junior underwriters
• Building and maintaining broker relationships
• Contributing to the refinement of pricing models and underwriting strategy

The ideal candidate will have:

✔ Proven experience in US Excess Casualty underwriting

✔ A strong analytical and commercial mindset

✔ Excellent communication and negotiation skills

✔ A proactive and collaborative approach

✔ Confidence in using MS Excel and related tools
