We’re now looking for a junior news reporter to join our award-winning editorial team.


✍ The Role

We're seeking an ambitious news journalist who's passionate about public policy and/or education, with a talent for finding original angles, hard-hitting scoops, and agenda-setting investigations.


In this role, you will:

  • Deliver exclusives across regional and national patches
  • Hone contacts, scrutinise data, and ask probing questions
  • Write news stories, long-reads and investigations (Please note: this is not a features-writing role)
  • Work towards media appearances discussing key education stories
  • Receive full support to develop into a top-flight reporter


What You’ll Need

  • An NCTJ qualification or equivalent (ideally including 100wpm shorthand)
  • Strong instincts and a sharp news sense
  • Tenacity, ambition, and drive
  • Data journalism skills and the ability to develop high-level contacts would be an advantage

You don’t need years of experience to apply — we’re looking for potential, passion, and raw journalistic talent.
