We’re now looking for a junior news reporter to join our award-winning editorial team.
✍ The Role
We're seeking an ambitious news journalist who's passionate about public policy and/or education, with a talent for finding original angles, hard-hitting scoops, and agenda-setting investigations.
In this role, you will:
- Deliver exclusives across regional and national patches
- Hone contacts, scrutinise data, and ask probing questions
- Write news stories, long-reads and investigations (Please note: this is not a features-writing role)
- Work towards media appearances discussing key education stories
- Receive full support to develop into a top-flight reporter
What You’ll Need
- An NCTJ qualification or equivalent (ideally including 100wpm shorthand)
- Strong instincts and a sharp news sense
- Tenacity, ambition, and drive
- Data journalism skills and the ability to develop high-level contacts would be an advantage
You don’t need years of experience to apply — we’re looking for potential, passion, and raw journalistic talent.
