Junior UI Designer (Material 3 Expressive) at Stealth AI Startup

We're searching for an exceptional Junior UI Designer who has a keen eye for aesthetics and a passion for crafting intuitive and visually stunning user experiences. We’re an AI innovation company backed by a top-tier VC, building products that will redefine the retail experience. Currently in stealth mode, we’re blending cutting-edge advances in behavioural science, Generative AI, and reinforcement learning to create systems that anticipate and serve customer needs in radically new ways.

We're looking for a talented Junior UI Designer to join our growing team and work for our Head of UI/UX. Our Head of UI/UX leads the overall user experience, and we need your outstanding UI design skills to complement this. Your primary focus will be on translating user flows and wireframes into high-fidelity designs, with a strong emphasis on applying modern design systems, particularly Material 3 expressive design, to elevate our products and brand.

What you'll do:

• Collaborate with our Head of UI/UX to translate concepts and user flows into compelling, high-fidelity UI designs.
• Apply and contribute to the development of our design system, ensuring consistency and adherence to established guidelines, with a strong understanding and application of Material 3 expressive design principles.
• Create detailed mockups, prototypes, and visual assets for our cutting-edge AI products, ensuring a seamless and delightful user experience, with an eye towards Material 3 components and customization.
• Contribute to the overall aesthetic and user delight of our product suite, focusing on usability and visual appeal.
• Assist in producing engaging marketing materials and presentations, ensuring brand consistency.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in UI design, design systems, and visual communication.

What you'll bring:

• A strong portfolio showcasing your UI design skills, including examples of high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, and an understanding of design systems.
• Proficiency with industry-standard design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe Creative Suite).
• Demonstrable knowledge and practical application of Material 3 design principles, including its expressive capabilities and dynamic theming.
• A keen eye for aesthetics, typography, color, and layout, with a focus on user interface best practices.
• Ability to work iteratively and incorporate feedback effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• A passion for creating visually stunning and intuitive digital experiences.

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Familiarity with AI or machine learning concepts.
• Experience in the retail or e-commerce sector.
