They are investing in innovation and infrastructure to support regional decarbonisation and future energy needs — and they’re looking for a Buyer to join their Commercial team in Greater Manchester.


About the Role

As a Construction Buyer, you will lead on short-term sourcing events and full end-to-end tenders within your allocated category. You'll work with internal stakeholders to define specifications and evaluation criteria, manage procurement milestones, and ensure compliance with internal and external governance requirements.

This is a fantastic opportunity to influence procurement strategy, manage supplier relationships, and support innovation through commercial excellence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Category Manager in delivering the category strategy
  • Execute tenders, renewals, and commercial interventions
  • Influence internal stakeholders on procurement strategy, risk, and innovation
  • Negotiate with suppliers on pricing, performance, and contract extensions
  • Champion procurement best practice across the business
  • Foster supplier relationships aligned with company values
  • Support wider commercial and procurement functions as needed
  • What We’re Looking For

    • CIPS qualification or working towards it (desirable)
    • Strong experience delivering tenders in a complex commercial setting
    • Understanding of relevant procurement legislation
    • Proven commercial acumen and negotiation skills
    • Able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong communicator with excellent attention to detail
    • Full UK driving licence
