About the London Metal Exchange
The London Metal Exchange (LME) is the world centre for industrial metals trading. Most of the world’s global non-ferrous futures business is conducted on the LME’s three trading platforms totalling $18 trillion, 178 million lots and 4 billion tonnes with a market open interest high of 1.8 million lots in 2024.
The metals community uses the LME, an HKEX Group company, as a venue to transfer or take on price risk, as a physical market of last resort and as the provider of transparent global reference prices.
Overall Purpose of Role
Join our product team who sit at the core of delivering high quality, innovative and relevant solutions to the LME.
In conjunction with the business owner you will be setting the product vision, objectives and outcomes and taking accountability for maximizing the value of the product, the delivery of the product goal and product backlog.
Representing the needs of the many stakeholders you will own the product backlog prioritisation and sequencing, ensuring the team implements the right requirements
at all stages of the delivery.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with stakeholders to define the roadmap with the key product goals and objectives needed to deliver the solution. Build and maintain a healthy backlog
- Constantly manage priorities to ensure work is focused, with effective management and refinement of the product backlog
- Provide vision and direction to the delivery teams; ensure that the team always has a healthy backlog of work
- Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals
- Ensure scope is always clear and understood and support teams to elaborate and break-down features
- Lead the scoping of product releases; set the expectation for delivery of new functionalities
- Evaluate the work generated by the delivery teams against Acceptance Criteria and desired outcomes
- Collaborate and coordinate with other Product Owners as applicable
- Create user stories, epics, and features and acceptance criteria
- Gathering requirements and writing high level requirements
- Key participant in Sprint Planning and agreeing content for each Sprint
Required Knowledge and Level of Experience
- Experience working as a Product Owner / Product Manager
- Experience working in an exchange or financial organisation
- Sound knowledge in IT, management, and agile software development.
- Experience of using agile methods and frameworks e.g. Scrum, Kanban and Lean as a minimum
Desirable Academic and Professional Qualifications Required
- Agile Leadership Training
- CSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner) – Product Owner Certification
- PSPO (Professional Scrum Product Owner) preferable not essential
