Job description

This role sits at the heart of the business, advising and influencing executive leadership on legal and regulatory matters while enabling commercial agility. You will provide pragmatic, strategic legal guidance, ensuring the organisation operates in a secure and compliant manner across multiple jurisdictions.


Key Responsibilities


  • Advise on the legal implications of commercial strategy and business operations.


  • Lead on corporate M&A activity from diligence through to post-deal integration.


  • Oversee legal operations including contract management, leveraging legal tech to optimise processes.


  • Manage and evolve the company’s approach to data protection and regulated market compliance.


  • Lead a high-performing team of legal, compliance and security professionals across the UK, Germany and Sweden.


  • Support international expansion and rapid scaling while ensuring legal compliance in new territories.


  • Represent Legal & Compliance at Executive Team level, contributing to broader strategic and operational decisions.


  • Build a high-performing, growth-oriented culture through mentorship, development plans and clear OKRs.



You will lead a team of 13, including five direct reports at Head or Lead level, with two leading smaller teams. The wider group spans legal, paralegal, and security experts based across the UK, Germany, and Sweden.


About You

  • A proven General Counsel or senior legal leader with international, cross-functional leadership experience.


  • A strategic thinker with high EQ and the ability to coach and inspire a talented team.


  • Strong track record of enabling commercial growth while managing legal and regulatory risk.


  • Experience in scaling businesses and building legal frameworks to support rapid expansion.


  • Exposure to working in regulated environments with deep understanding of data protection.


  • Hands-on, commercially minded, and comfortable influencing at the executive level.
