Senior Service Designer – Public Sector

London (Hybrid)

Salary: Up to £75,000

Clearance: Must currently hold or have previously held SC clearance

The Opportunity

A leading design consultancy is looking for a Senior Service Designer to join their multidisciplinary team, focused on delivering impactful, human-centred services for the UK public sector. This is a chance to work on meaningful projects that improve systems and services while helping to grow a forward-thinking design practice.

What You’ll Do

• Lead service design activities across discovery, alpha, beta, and live phases
• Conduct user research and map service journeys, ecosystems, and processes
• Facilitate co-creation workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions
• Prototype service components and test with users to validate concepts
• Translate insights into actionable recommendations and service improvements
• Support internal capability building and mentor junior designers

What You’ll Bring

• 5+ years of experience in service design or a closely related discipline
• A strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end service design work
• Experience working with or within the UK public sector
• Familiarity with GDS standards and inclusive design principles
• Confident in research, synthesis, facilitation, and visual communication
• Comfortable operating within agile, cross-functional teams

The package:

• £60,000 - £75,000 base
• Company bonus
• Pension
