Head of Legal – Innovative Engineering & Technology Business | West Midlands | 2 Days On-Site | 4-Day Working Week

We are delighted to be working with a pioneering and fast-growing organisation to recruit a Head of Legal – a senior leadership position offering genuine strategic influence and the opportunity to help shape the future of a cutting-edge business.

This is a standout opportunity for an experienced lawyer to join a dynamic, forward-thinking company operating at the forefront of the engineering and technology sectors. As part of the Senior Leadership Team, you’ll play a key role in driving legal strategy and supporting the business through its continued growth and innovation journey.

About You:

• You will bring 10+ years PQE, ideally with significant in-house experience in a fast-paced, commercial environment with experience in broad commercial contracts, including complex high value transactions, with particular expertise in one of the following; IP, Regulatory, Real Estate, Public Procurement or Construction.
• A background in engineering, manufacturing, or technology is highly desirable.
• You’ll have a strong grasp of both legal and strategic business drivers, and be ready to step into a high-impact leadership role.
• Excellent business acumen, understanding business operations and objectives to provide legal advice that aligns with business strategy
• As a natural leader, you'll be confident managing a team and embedding best-practice legal processes across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide expert legal and compliance advice across a broad range of areas, including:

• Intellectual property protection and enforcement
• GDPR & Compliance
• Subsidy Control
• Product Safety
• Public procurement

Oversee Company Secretarial & DPO duties

Lead on high-value and strategic transactions, such as:

• Funding agreements
• Mergers and acquisitions
• Property and asset acquisitions

Build, lead and develop the legal function, ensuring alignment with the wider business strategy.

Roll out legal frameworks and processes that enable both day-to-day efficiency and long-term planning.
