Senior Product Designer - Contract


£250 per day

Outside IR35

6 month rolling contract

Our client, a fast-growing e-commerce company redefining how people shop online. Their platform serves millions of customers with a seamless, personalized, and delightful shopping experience. They are obsessed with great design and believe it’s a critical part of delivering meaningful value to their users.


We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to shape the future of their digital products. You’ll work across our customer and operations platforms, driving user experience innovation from strategy to execution.


Key Responsibilities


  • Design Leadership: Set the design vision and strategy for our product experiences across web and mobile platforms. Champion design excellence and advocate for user needs at every stage of the product development cycle.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, engineers, marketers, and analysts to define problems, craft solutions, and deliver features that scale.
  • UX/UI Design: Create high-quality, user-centric designs — from research and wireframes to prototypes and polished UI.
  • Design System: Evolve and maintain our design system to ensure a consistent, accessible, and scalable visual language.
  • Mentorship: Lead and mentor a growing team of designers, providing feedback, guidance, and career development.
  • Customer Insight: Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions and validate ideas.
  • Business Impact: Understand business goals and metrics, and design solutions that drive measurable improvements in conversion, retention, and customer satisfaction.


Requirements


  • 6+ years of experience in product design, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end product design work, ideally in e-commerce, retail, or B2C platforms.
  • Mastery of design tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, interaction design, and visual design.
  • Excellent communication skills — able to articulate design decisions clearly and persuasively.
  • Experience leading projects and collaborating in cross-functional agile teams.
  • A balance of strategic thinking and hands-on design execution.
  • Familiarity with A/B testing, analytics, and data-informed design decisions.
