Building Surveyor - West Midlands

Job description

If you are a Building Surveyor looking for variety, autonomy, and you enjoy working on meaningful projects then this could be what you're after!

Your main duties will be leading reinstatement projects for damaged commercial properties, with the values of projects ranging from £50k to £5m. You'd need to produce technical reports, diagnose defects and prepare schedules of work, as well as managing tenders, contracts and project delivery. One of the main skills needed is balancing empathy with efficiency when supporting clients through challenging situations - they may have just lost their livlihoods for a while.

You need to be MRICS chartered or working towards chartership, with a building-related degree. You also need strong knowledge of construction methods and legislation, experience in contract administration and project planning, as well as being calm under pressure, a confident communicator, and having a proactive mindset.
