Job Opportunity: Operational Excellence Specialist

Location: Chester, UK

Position Type: Contract (Inside IR35), Site Based

Duration: 3 Months (Full Time)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced a Continuous Improvement Specialist to join a manufacturing company based in Chester on an interim basis. As part of this role, you will be responsible for fostering a culture of continuous improvement, delivering process improvements, as well as helping increase productivity and reducing waste.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver Lean Six Sigma projects to improve quality, safety, efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Coach and mentor staff in problem-solving methodologies, value stream mapping, and waste elimination.
• Design and implement enterprise excellence metrics and training programs (e.g., White/Yellow/Green Belt certifications).
• Facilitate root cause analysis sessions for critical business issues.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (Master Black Belt preferred).
• Proven track record of driving change and delivering process improvements in manufacturing environments.
• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies, including Lean tools and systems thinking.
• Knowledge of operational excellence frameworks (e.g., Shingo, or similar) is highly desirable.
