Head of Policy

Location: London EC1 / Hybrid

Salary: £65,000–£70,000

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

The Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland (CGIUKI) – the leading qualifying and membership body for governance professionals – is looking for a strategic and forward-thinking Head of Policy to join our team.

With over 10,000 members and students across the UK, Ireland and Associated Territories, and as part of a global network in 80 countries, we are at the forefront of shaping governance practices that drive organisational performance, resilience and long-term value.

In this pivotal role, you will:

• Lead high-profile policy initiatives and regulatory responses.
• Represent the Institute at senior levels across government, regulators, and industry.
• Manage the Company Secretaries Forum and other key advisory groups.
• Guide and develop a talented team while collaborating across research, education, events and external affairs.

Who we’re looking for:

A credible, intellectually rigorous policy leader with experience influencing policy or regulatory frameworks – ideally within governance, legal, corporate, or membership sectors. You’ll combine strong stakeholder engagement with the ability to work closely with subject matter experts, and you’ll be confident acting as a visible ambassador for the Institute.
