Our client is a respected Lancashire-based building contractor delivering projects up to £20 million across the health, education, and commercial sectors. They work on local authority frameworks and with private clients, with a reputation for delivering quality, safety, and value across all stages of the construction process.


The Role

They are looking for an experienced Construction Planner to support the successful delivery of multiple projects across our portfolio. Working closely with project and site teams, you will be responsible for producing and maintaining detailed programmes, identifying critical path activities, and supporting tender and live project planning requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed construction programmes for both tenders and live projects
  • Liaise with estimating, design, commercial, and site teams to ensure accuracy of programmes
  • Carry out regular programme reviews and updates throughout the project lifecycle
  • Identify potential delays or issues and propose mitigation strategies
  • Produce short-term lookahead plans in coordination with site management
  • Analyse subcontractor and supplier input into programmes
  • Attend client, design, and progress meetings as required
  • Assist with preparation of reports and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders


Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Construction Planner in a main contractor environment
  • Strong knowledge of buildability and construction sequencing
  • Proficiency in Asta Powerproject or Primavera P6, with good MS Project skills
  • Familiarity with NEC and JCT contracts and local authority frameworks
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines under pressure
  • Full UK driving licence (occasional site travel required)


Desirable

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Construction Management or related field
  • Experience with BIM integration or 4D planning (preferred but not essential)
